BERLIN, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Germany forward Marco Reus is likely to miss the World Cup after after suffering a partially torn ankle ligament in Friday's 6-1 friendly win over Armenia.
The Borussia Dortmund winger twisted his left ankle just before the half-time break in Mainz and a scan revealed the extent of the injury.
The German Football Association will decide whether the 25-year-old should travel with the squad who leave at 22:00 local time from Frankfurt for their camp at Porto Seguro in Brazil on Saturday.
Reus scored seven goals in 21 appearances for Germany.
Germany open their Group G campaign against Portugal in Salvador on June 16 and also face Ghana and the United States in the group stage.
