WASHINGTON, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Tim Duncan contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds in San Antonio Spurs' 110-105 win over the two-time defending champion Miami Heat in the opening game of the NBA finals on Thursday.

Miami's LeBron James had a game-high 25 points but the star forward was forced to leave the match late in the fourth quarter suffering from heat-related problems.

The air conditioner system inside the AT&T Center arena did not work which caused the temperatures inside the arena Thursday to hit 33 degrees Celsius during the second half.

Tony Parker finished with 19 points and eight assists while Manu Ginobili came off the bench for 16 points and 11 assists for the Spurs who are trying to win their fifth NBA championship since 1999.

Dwyane Wade scored 19 points and Chris Bosh tallied 18 points and nine rebounds for the Heat who are just the third team in NBA history to make the finals four straight years.
