BERLIN, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Hertha Berlin completed their fourth transfer for the upcoming season as Genki Haraguchi joins from Urawa Red Diamonds, the Bundesliga club confirmed on its official homepage on Sunday.
Berlin's 23-year-old new arrival moved from J - League front-runners Urawa Red Diamonds by putting pen to paper on a deal until June 2018. In Berlin Haraguchi will meet his former teammate Hajime Hosogai, who joined the club in 2013.
"Genki Haraguchi is a versatile striker who can play on the left and right wing as well as in the center or as a second striker. With his commitment we widen our options in the offence," Berlin manager Michael Preetz said.
Berlin's new arrival scored 33 goals in 162 appearances in the J - League overall. Besides that he played three games for Japans international soccer team. However, he is not part of the squad for the World Cup in Brazil.
Haraguchi is fourth summer new arrival for the "Old Lady" after the signings of Leverkusen's Jens Hegeler, Basel's Valentin Stocker, and Nuremberg's Marvin Plattenhadt
Hertha Berlin finished the season on 11th place of the Bundesliga standings.
