THE HAGUE, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Dutch international Daryl Janmaat's injury will not hurt his chance to play in the upcoming Brazil World Cup, the Dutch football association KNVB announced on Sunday.
The Feyenoord player picked up an ankle ligaments sprain during the Netherlands' 1-1 draw with Ecuador in a World Cup warm-up match on Saturday in Amsterdam.
KNVB said participation at the World Cup will not be in danger for Janmaat.
"His recovery is expected to take about two weeks," said the association.
Janmaat joins the Dutch team on training camp to Portugal from May 20 until May 27 and could even be fit for the friendlies versus Ghana in Rotterdam on May 31 and Wales in Amsterdam on June 4.
After tackled by Oscar Bagui just before half-time against Ecuador the Dutch right back limped off the pitch, looking to have seriously damaged his ankle. Medical examination showed the injury is not that serious.
