THE HAGUE, March 9 (Xinhua) -- Dutch league leaders Ajax surprisingly lost two points in the title race after a 1-1 draw at home against SC Cambuur in Amsterdam on Sunday.
The home team had a great start with captain Siem de Jong finishing a cross by Ricardo Kishna after one minute and 25 seconds. After that quick goal the pace of the game declined and Cambuur came back into the match.
Cambuur equalized in the 54th minute. Martijn Barto headed in a corner by Jody Lukoki, on loan from Ajax. Despite some minor chances Ajax was not able to bounce back and Cambuur grabbed their first ever point at Ajax in the eredivisie.
Also on Sunday FC Twente lost 1-0 at Go Ahead Eagles. Jarchinio Antonia became match winner in the 33rd minute. Feyenoord won 2-0 at FC Groningen, thanks to goals by Ruben Schaken and Stefan de Vrij.
On Saturday Vitesse beat NAC 2-1 in Breda, while PSV booked their sixth consecutive victory against FC Utrecht (1-0).
After 27 match rounds, with seven remaining, Ajax still lead the Dutch standings with 58 points. Vitesse trail by six points, Twente by nine, Feyenoord by ten and PSV by eleven.
