BELGRADE, March 8 (Xinhua) -- With convincing wins of two leading teams on Saturday, Red Star and Partizan, over their opponents, the top of the Serbian Superliga table after 18th round looks the same.
Serbian FC Red Star that defeated Napredak from Krusevac holds on to the first position on the table with a one point lead over Partizan.
In front of 22,000 people at Red Star' s ground at Belgrade' s "Marakana" red-whites managed to turn over the initial 0-1 lead of Radnicki to a glorious 4-1 victory.
After the first goal of guests (Srdjan Dimitrov, 15' penalty), Red Star evened with a goal by Savo Pavicevic (45' ) to take the lead in the second quarter by two goals by Nigerian-Swedish player Abiola Dauda (73' and 76' ). The final score was set after a well conducted penalty by Milos Ninkovic (81).
This is the eighth consecutive win for Red Star in the domestic competition after Slavisa Stojanovic took over the helm as a coach in July.
On the other hand their biggest rival Partizan pulled off an even more convincing home win over Radnicki from Kragujevac (5-0).
Besides Petar Skuletic that shaked the net of Radnicki twice, scorers were Filip Malbasic (3' ), Nikola Drincic (58' ) and Danko Lazovic (64' , penalty).
Red Star now has 41 points in the Serbian league standings, tightly followed by Partizan with 40 points.
Far behind are third ranked Cukaricki from Belgrade with 31 points followed by Vojvodina and Jagodina with 28 points each.
