BUENOS AIRES, March 2 (Xinhua) -- With a goal scored by Colombian player Teofilo Gutierrez on Sunday River Plate defeated San Lorenzo in the fifth matchday of Argentina's local tournament.
The match was played in Buenos Aires' Monumental stadium, where the team led by Ramon Diaz outperformed the San Lorenzo.
At minute 20, Gutierrez scored River's only goal after a collective move.
With this victory, River achieved seven points to recover from last weekend's defeat against Colon de Santa Fe (12 points), and before against Godoy Cruz de Mendoza (9).
On the other hand, San Lorenzo's (9) good luck streak was broken after the previous three victories, while its player Nestor Ortigoza was expelled at minute 84.
