SOCHI, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Jonathan Toews and Sidney Crosby scored their first goals at the Sochi Winter Olympic Games as Canada defeated Sweden 3-0 to win the men's ice hockey gold medal here on Sunday.
Toews opened the scoring for Canada, just as he did in the gold medal game at the Vancouver 2010 Games, at 12:55 of the first period.
Crosby, who scored the overtime gold medal winner in Vancouver, netted Canada's second goal before Chris Kunitz sealed the win with a third.
Canada becomes the first team to win back-to-back gold medals since the Soviet Union won gold at the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Winter Games.
Sweden earned its third silver medal, having finished second at the 1928 and 1964 Olympic Winter Games.
