MONTEVIDEO, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Former Uruguay international forward Nicolas Olivera struck twice as Defensor Sporting Club opened their Copa Libertadores campaign with a 4-1 victory over Peru's Real Garcilaso.
Alfredo Ramua opened the scoring for the visitors in the 20th minute at the Estadio Luis Franzini before Nicolas Correa equalized just before halftime.
Felipe Gedoz struck just after the restart before Olivera netted twice in the last 20 minutes.
"The dynamic of this tournament means you have to be completely thorough and not drop points at home," Olivera said. "We played attractive football tonight and got a great result."
