MILAN, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Juventus head coach Antonio Conte was left bemused at his side's breakdown in their 2-2 draw at Verona on Sunday.
Juventus stopped play after Carlos Tevez scored twice to put them ahead in the first half, only to see Luca Toni and Juanito Gomez Taleb's goals pulled off an unlikely comeback for the hosts.
"It's inexplicable. The game lasts 90 minutes instead of 45," said Conte with apparent irritation. "It's not acceptable to be punished by two set plays on two distractions. It wipes out all the good work we did until then."
He blamed his players for their lack of concentration in the game.
"We conceded far too many goals from dead ball situations and we've got to be focused, as there's little I can do in tactical terms or studying opponents. It's a question of concentration,".
He warned the Juventus stars that no one is secured of a starting position.
"Everyone has to remember they have to earn their place. Don' t forget we've got Claudio Marchisio on the bench in good shape and Osvaldo ready to play in attack. I'll evaluate everything and make my choices," he said.
He urged his players to learn the lesson and keep themselves motivated throughout the season.
"Motivation must always be at the maximum, otherwise we end up like we did today. It's a real shame to lose these two points," he added.
