MELBOURNE, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Poland's Lukasz Kubot and Sweden's Roebrt Lindstedt beat American Eric Butorac and Raven Klaasen of South Africa 6-3, 6-3 to win Australian Open men's doubles championship here on Saturday.
Kubot and Lindstedt converted two break points in taking the first set and had 19 winners against just one unforced error in taking the second set.
It is the first major doubles title for either Lindstedt or Kubot. Lindstedt has advanced to the men's doubles finals at Wimbledon each of the past three years.
Butorac and Klaasen were looking to be the first unseeded duo to win the Australian Open men's doubles title since Stefan Edberg and Petr Korda in 1996. They had a very impressive run to the final, including beating No.1 seeds Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan.
