ROME, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) on Wednesday received a terrorist mail threatening attacks against athletes at next month's Sochi Winter Olympic Games.
The CONI's press office confirmed to Xinhua that they have received the mail but refused to disclose its content.
Similar mails were sent to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as well as to Olympic Committees of other countries and regions including Hungary, Slovenia and Germany, according to the CONI press office.
The threats were reportedly made in Russian and English.
In a statement published on its website, CONI said it was "serene" and voiced "trust" in security measures for the Feb. 7-23 Games to be held in the Russian ski resort.
