Guangdong roll past Tianjin 116-70, Beijing edged Zhejiang 114-110

BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Six players of Guangdong Hongyuan scored double-digit points and helped the defending champions claim an easy home victory over Tianjin Ronggang 116-70 in the 23rd round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Gangdong' s Ren Junfei finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, Khalif Wyatt added 18 points and 6 assists, Dong Hanlin contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Gao Shang, Zhou Peng and Li Yuanyu combined with 33 points. Tianjin' s Zhang Zhihan scored team-high 18 points, Zhang Ji contributed 17 points and Feng Yan had 10 points.

Guangdong led 62-27 at halftime to put the game out of touch and the former NBA star Yi Jianlian sat out to rest at the end of the first quarter. Yi finished with 9 points and 6 boards in 12 minutes.

Beijing' s Randolph Morris and Damien Wilkins both finished with 26 points and a technical foul as the foreign duo led Ducks over Zhejiang Guangsha 114-104.

Wang Xiaohui scored 17 points, Zhu Yanxi helped with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Sun Yue added 13 points and 4 assists for Beijing. Zhejiang' s Chris Johnson had team-high 18 points and 14 boards, and Lin Zhijie and Zhang Yongpeng combined with 26 points.

Zhejiang led 27-16 in the first quarter due to Beijing' s 6 turnovers in a single quarter. Afterwards, both teams played hard in the game and Beijing led 43-42 at half time. Beijing had a 14-4 run in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, which helped Beijing turn the game around and gaining the victory.

Jiangsu' s Hu Xuefeng finished with near triple-double of 18 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds, as he helped Dragons beat Yao Ming-owned Shanghai Sharks 106-95, ending Shanghai' s three-match winning streak.

Jiangsu' s foreign duo, Marcus Haislip and Jackson Vroman combined with 42 points and Meng Da helped with 17 points.

In other games, Dongguan Marco Polo beat Zhejiang Chouzhou 106-97, Xinjiang Guanghui topped Qingdao Doublestars 105-90 and sent the rival to their 9th straight loss, newly-promote Sichuan Jinqiang edged Shanxi Fenjiu 100-99, Liaoning Hengye defeated Jinlin Northeast Tigers 113-109, Fujian SBS downed Bayi Fubang 117-100 and Shandong Gold were 110-102 winners over Foshan Long Lions.
