THE HAGUE, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- Four policemen were injured and one man was arrested after disturbances during a Dutch football match between JCV Cuijk and MVV Maastricht on Wednesday, Dutch police stated on Thursday.
MVV lost 2-1 to Cuijk, after which disappointed fans went into a frenzy, vandalized property and charged at police.
Four officers suffered injuries during the the riots. Police in Maastricht arrested a 38-year-old resident of Maastricht later that night on suspicion of involvement in the riots.
Police are still investigating the riots and more arrests could follow.
MVV training was cancelled Thursday for security reasons. MVV are currently ranked thirteenth in the Jupiler League, the second level in the Netherlands.
