MINSK, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian tennis player Olga Govortsova advanced Friday into the women's singles final of the 235,000-U.S.-dollar Tashkent Open in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The world 113th-ranked Belarusian beat world No.132 Mandy Minella of Luxembourg by 6-2, 7-5 in one and a half hours.
Govortsova will face Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski, ranked 58th in the world, who defeated Spaniard Maria Teresa Torro-Flor 6-2, 6- 2 in the other semifinal.
Govortsova has eight career doubles titles, but has yet to come away with a singles crown. Jovanovski is looking for her second WTA title.
