LAGOS, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The head coach of Nigeria's Under-13 football team, Danladi Nasidi, said he would decamp players who failed to measure up to the team's expectation since the camp opened seven days ago.
Nasidi made these remarks in a statement reaching Xinhua on Tuesday, saying that the decamping of unproductive players would give way for new ones to showcase their talent.
Thirty-one players are currently in the team's camp at the Love and Peace Hotel in Akure city, in southwest Ondo State.
Invited players were selected from the 2012 National U-13 Youth Championship, which featured teams from eight states, namely Sokoto, Edo, Kaduna, Imo, Abuja, Ogun, Niger and Ekiti.
All invited players have reported to camp except for players from the Abuja who were busy with their preparations for a tour of Spain scheduled to take place in the first week of October.
The Abuja U-13 team emerged champions of the 2012 National U-13 Youth Championship which took place in December in Abuja.
