HAVANA, March 18 (Xinhua) -- The 2nd U-20 Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup Monday kicked off in Havana's Sports City, where eight countries and regions are participating to get a ticket for the World Grand Prix to be held next June in Czech Republic.
The first match will be held on Monday at 1400 local time (1800 GMT) between Chile and Puerto Rico, both from Group B together with Cuba and Costa Rica.
Also Mexico and Colombia, as well as Peru and Dominican Republic, all from Group A, will start their game on Monday.
The best two teams of each group will go to playoffs, where the two winning teams will take part in the continental championship on March 23.
The winner of Group B will get a ticket for World Grand Prix, because the four countries from Group A have already qualified.
The first U-20 Women's Pan American Volleyball Cup was held in Lima, Peru, in 2011, where Dominica was champion and Cuba ended second.
