LUANDA, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Chairman of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Mustapha Hassan said here on Monday he was ready to support Angola in hosting a world handball championship if the African country applied for this goal.
Speaking to reporters at the Luanda international airport, Mustapha Hassam talked about the possibility of Angola to host a world handball championship as he described Angola as a strong country in handball with good conditions.
If Angola showed interest in organizing a world cup it would get the support of the International Handball Federation, he added.
The IHF chief was in Luanda for a four-day visit for talks with Angolan Minister of Youth and Sports Goncalves Muandumba and sports officials and to visit the construction site of the Arena de Luanda pavilion, which will host the roller-skate hockey world championship on September 20-28.
Currently Angola has eleven African handball titles and had participated in world championships and Olympic Games.
