LONDON, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- World No. 6 Stephen Maguire fought back from behind to edge out Stuart Bingham 9-8 to win the Welsh Open at the Newport Center on Sunday.
The two players were deadlocked at 4-4 into the final evening session. Englishman Bingham looked dominant to lead 7-5 but Maguire took the next three frames in a row to make it 8-7.
Bingham gave the crowd a deciding frame when he levelled, but Maguire's imperious 82 saw him home.
"I forgot what it felt like to be a winner at the end of a tournament, it's the best feeling ever," Maguire said.
