HANOI, Nov. 1 (Xinhua) -- The first ever paragliding competition will be held in Vietnam, during Nov. 16-18, Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA reported on Thursday.
Quoting Vietnam's General Department of Sports and Physical Training, VNA reported that the event, held in northern Vietnam's Hoa Binh province, some 60 km west of capital Hanoi, will draw 30 pilots from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The event is co-organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Hanoi Paragliding Club and Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
There are about 200 Vietnamese pilots around the country, practising paragliding, according to VNA.
