TBILISI, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Iberia Star Tbilisi made the most of its home advantage Thursday to trounce Luparense C/5 from Italy 6-1 in Group D of the elite qualification for the 2012-2013 UEFA Cup Futsal finals.
Brazilian international Augusto scored two goals in the first half to put the Georgian five on the scoreboard.
Though the Italians pulled one goal back in the second half, the Georgians added four more to their credit to seal the game safely away from the Italians.
With the win, the Iberia Stars led the group of four teams with three clean points.
Former UEFA Cup Futsal winners SL Benfica of Portugal squandered their 3-0 lead only to allow three goals in the dying minutes from Gyori ETO FC of Hungary to split the game with one point each.
Benfica take on Luparense while Iberia Star play Gyori on Friday.
Only the winner of the group will join winners of the three other groups in the finals to be played out in April next year in a place yet to be decided.
