RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Brazil coach Mano Menezes is set to promote midfielder Thiago Neves to the starting lineup for Wednesday's international friendly against Argentina.
Brazil's squad trained on Tuesday with Fluminense playmaker Neves in an attacking role behind striker Neymar.
Internacional forward Leandro Damiao is also expected to start after the withdrawal of Luis Fabiano with a thigh injury.
"We tested out several alternatives during the training session with Damiao replacing Luis Fabiano and Neymar maintained in attack," Menezes said.
The match, to be played in the northern Argentine city of Resistencia, is the second leg of the so-called Super Classic of the Americas.
Only South American-based players have been selected by both teams.
Brazil won last month's first leg in Goiania 2-1 after Neymar converted a dramatic injury-time penalty.
