WASHINGTON, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- London Olympic champion Kristin Armstrong lost her two bikes and police in Germany and the United States are investigating the theft.
The road bike and time trial bike were missing at some point while being shipped to Boise from Germany, the AP reported on Wednesday.
The bikes were shipped from Germany on Friday and made stops in Frankfurt and Atlanta, but the boxes that arrived at Armstrong's house on Tuesday were empty.
The bikes were on display in Germany. The time trial bike is the same one that Armstrong used to win her gold medal in London and is valued at 30,000 U.S. dollars. Her road bike is valued at almost that much.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Wednesday agents in the United States and Germany were investigating the theft.
