RIO DE JANEIRO, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's world No. 1 women's pairing of Juliana Felisberta and Larissa Franca will vie for an Olympic spot when the main draw of the beach volleyball world tour begins in Brasilia on Tuesday.

Felisberta, who missed the 2008 Olympics in Beijing with a serious knee injury, is already thinking about the London Games.

"The circuit this year will be a big test for us and will hopefully help us to prepare for the Olympics," Felisberta said.

Also carrying Brazilian hopes will be Emanuel Rego and Alison Cerutti, also world No. 1 pair, who will compete in the men's competition starting on Thursday.

The opening six rounds of the 2012 tour will count towards qualification for the London Games.

This week's event includes 145 teams from 35 countries and regions.
