MADRID, March 21 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola had more words of praise for striker Leo Messi who made history for the club on Tuesday night.

Messi' s hat-trick in Barca' s 5-3 win at home to Granada not only took his total of goals for the season to 34 in the BBVA Primera Liga, but they took his total for the club to 234. That means that aged just 24 years old, Messi has overtaken Cesar as the maximum goalscorer in the history of Barcelona.

The Spanish press has once again almost run out of words to describe the achievements of the Barcelona striker and speaking in el Mundo Deportivo this Wednesday morning, Guardiola admitted that he also struggled to describe the feats of the forward.

"Everything has been said about Messi," he commented. "He doesn't score goals, he scores great goals and each one is almost better than the previous one. He has scored 234 goals aged just 24 years old and he does it day after day," continued Guardiola.

"We are looking at absolutely the best player there is. He is able to do everything a footballer has to do and he does it every three day. There has never been anyone like him, he is different, and we are very happy to have him here and to live with him here. I hope he stays for a long time," added the coach.

Guardiola even compared Messi with basketball legend Michael Jordan.

"Jordan dominated his sport and this lad dominates his. There have been very few players who have been able to dominate their sports the way that Messi dominates his," he concluded.
