BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- A vehicle of full load of over a hundred tons of vegetables is slowly leaving Ningxia Transportation International Logistics Port.
"It will reach Hong Kong in 48 hours, which was unimaginable in the past," said Chen Gang, a person in charge of the logistic center in northwestern China's Ningxia Hui autonomous Region.
Chen added a couple of years ago, it took nearly 80 hours to transport goods from Ningxia to Hong Kong.
Now business chances will not slip away any more thanks to the acceleration of the transportation starting from 2014.
Under China's "Belt and Road" initiatives, building an open Ningxia is gaining momentum.
Four channels of road access stretch westward towards Mongolia, Russia, and countries at the heart of Eurasia, as well as the Arab States.
Three eastward channels link inland Ningxia with coastal ports in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Shandong Province in the east and China's southern and southwestern cities.
