BEIJING, July 14 (Xinhuanet) -- As China's window of opening to the west, Ningxia has geared up to develop into a pivotal of the Silk Road Economic Belt and China's strategy of opening to the west in recent years. During this process, the China-Arab States Expo and Ningxia's status as the inland open economic pilot area has been given impetus.
Away from border areas or coastal areas, inland Ningxia is located in the geometric center of China. It was an essential passageway of the ancient Silk Road,a commercial port town, a convenient channel from eastern and central China to Central Asia, Europe, and also an important transportation hub of East and West China.
Ningxia is now witnessing a vigorous construction in transportation, communicating channels and platforms as well as expansion of foreign cooperative areas.
China-Arab States Expo is a state-level and international economic and trade expo. Its predecessor is "Ningxia Fair and the China-Arab States Economic and Trade Forum".Since 2010, the expo has welcomed state leaders, ministerial officials, ambassadors from more than 70 countries and regions, and attracted 46 big business associations and over 6,200 representatives from enterprises and financial sectors.
Ningxia plans to build state-level dialogue on policies, trade cooperation and cultural communication, to make itself a growth pole of China and a propeller of information and financial center on the Silk Road Economic Belt.
Giving full play to summits and forums held in Ningxia on industries, commerce, technology and innovations, Ningxia grasps opportunities to promote the development of local economy and enhance international influence.
