BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of NW China has witnessed a very unusual development of foreign trade in the first nine months of 2013.
Facing the changing international economic situation, the whole region, as an inland region, persisted in its opening up strategy, constantly optimized its import-export structure, and made foreign trade grow steadily.
The region’s economic sector has taken the transformation of its foreign trade development mode as the main line, adhered to scientific and technological innovation, enhanced the technological content of its export products with higher added value, and gained new advantages in international competition for years.
Export products have expanded to include new materials of some one thousand kinds in the fields of special pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, machinery, textiles and agriculture; and have cultivated industries with expert of tantalum and niobium products, ferrosilicon products, metal magnesium products and cashmere products at a value of million dollars. Besides, a number of extroversion enterprises have gone to the fore.
High product quality and corporate strength have created a “blowout” in the region’s foreign trade.
According to the Yinchuan Customs, from January to September, the region's total import and export reached 2.65 billion U.S. dollars, up 60.8 percent from a year earlier, and 52 percentage points above the national growth rate.
Among this, export reached 2.15 billion U.S. dollars, with an increase of 82.1 percent from a year earlier and 74 percentage points above the national growth rate.
With the Arab Expo as a platform , the region has accelerated its pace of opening up and become a major trade paternoster of countries including the six GCC member: the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait and others.
