BEIJING, Nov.6 (Xinhuanet) -- It is learned the Ningxia Yongning Yellow River Highway Bridge has begun construction in Yongning County, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region lately, on October 21.
When completed, it will become the first twin tower and cable-stayed bridge in upper basin of the Yellow River in the region.
The bridge will be another channel crossing the Yellow River, a natural barrier. More importantly, it will further improve the road network in Yinchuan, capital city of the region, optimize the layout of urban space, enhance the regional transportation accessibility and promote construction of economic zones along the river.
The total construction route extends 15.6 kilometers, covering a bridge length of 3.81 kilometers. With a width of 33.5 meters, the bridge is designed two-way and six-lane.
The total estimated investment of the project will be 1.94 billion Yuan.
