BEIJING, Jan. 8 (Xinhuanet) – The GDP of Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is predicted to surpass 111 billion yuan (US$ 17.8 billion) this year, 2.5 times that of the 2007 figures, with an average annual growth of 13.2 percent, according to the first session of the 14th Yinchuan People’s Congress.
The urban per capita disposable income and rural per capita net income are expected to reach 21,820 and 7,920 yuan respectively this year.
Over the past five years, the city has put much emphasis on industrial infrastructure construction, modern agriculture development and service industry. The Ningdong Energy Chemical Base, Yinchuan Economic and Technical Development Zone and Lingwu Cashmere Industrial Park have so far all accelerated their development pace. The growth rate of milk, marine products, plus the output of Islamic beef and mutton, all surpassed 20 percent compared to the 2007 figures. The city’s logistics, exhibition, animation and other emerging industries have also taken shape.
