BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhuanet) – Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, seizing the opportunity of west development in recent years, accelerates development of high-starting-point and high-standard development zones and industrial parks. They have become a focus of Ningxia's economic growth.
Since the establishment of Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone and Shizuishan Industrial Zone in 1992, more than 30 development zones and industrial parks had been set up in Ningxia. They serve as a channel for Ningxia's opening to the outside world and attracting investments from overseas.
Take the Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone as an example. By the end of 2009, there are 2350 enterprises located here, such as enterprises of optical-electro-mechanical industry, specialty medical industry, information industry. GDP of the zone for 2009 amounted to 6.47billion yuan ($ 977.62 million).
