BEIJING, Dec. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Sony said on Sunday its PlayStation Network was back in service after disruptions that began on Christmas.
Sony‘s PlayStation, a home video game network produced by Sony Computer Entertainment, suffered connection problems since hackers attacked it about four days ago.
The hacker activist group known as Lizard Squad has claimed responsibility for disrupting both the PlayStation Network and Microsoft Corp's Xbox Live on Christmas Day.
The company confirmed that the online service of PlayStation was gradually being restored, but heavy traffic might continue to cause problems for customers seeking to play their favorite games.
Sony has been the victim of some high-profile security breaches. In late November, Sony Pictures' computer system was taken down by hackers. In 2011, hackers stole data belonging to 77 million PlayStation Network users.
