BEIJING, April 29 (Xinhuanet) -- Apple will replace flawed sleep-wake button so as to fix some older iPhone 5, it said lately.
The sleep-wake button will be replaced, “free of charge, on iPhone 5 models that exhibit this issue and have a qualifying serial number,” it said at the website.
The website also gave instructions for iPhone 5 users to check serial numbers and determine if their iPhone 5 qualify for free repair.
“A small percentage” of iPhone 5 models, made over last March, may have on-off buttons problems that stop working or work intermittently, admitted Apple company.
In 2010, Apple offered free fix service for iPhone 4 users after flawed iPhone 4 was detected signal loss problems, though the problems were rare for the company.
