Local elections are underway in Romania on June 5, 2016, with more than 18 million voters to elect the authorities of the local administration. According to the statistics released by the Central Electoral Bureau, a number of 18,616 polling stations were set up nationwide, while as many as 267,242 are running for mayor, local or county councilor.
