Image taken on July 5, 2015 shows David Valencia (C), devotee of the Holy Death, performing a 'clean' to a youngster during a ceremony in the International Temple of the Holy Death, in Tultitlan, State of Mexico, Mexico.

Image taken on Oct. 15, 2015, shows Ramon Gallardo carrying a statue of the Holy Death that he has in his home along other images dressed as warriors, in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico, Mexico. The cult to the Holy Death is a social phenomenon also known as the "cult to the white girl" whose importance is currently patent mostly in shantytowns in Mexico City and that has slowly extended to other regions of the country, mostly to the zones bordering with the U.S., which has caused the construction in several places of altars, monuments and tabernacles where flowers, candles and different religious symbolisms are placed. In Mexico, the Day of the Death is celebrated on Nov. 2, a festivity of indigenous origin declared on 2003 by the United Nations Education, Science and Culture Organization (UNESCO) as Masterpice of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
