ISLAMABAD, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people including women and kids were killed and 22 others injured when a bomb hit a passenger bus in Pakistan's southwest Quetta city on Monday night, officials said.
Almish Khan, the inspector general of police, said that the bomb was triggered off by a timed device fixed inside the passenger bus at a terminal in Sariab Road of Quetta, the capital city of the country's southwest Balochistan province.
He said that about four to five kilograms of explosives were used in the bomb that was planted at the rear part of the bus.
The bus carrying about 40 passengers was about to leave the bus terminal when it came under attack by unknown militants.
Doctor Noor Baloch, the chief surgeon of the police, said that at least eight among the injured people are in critical condition.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Police cordoned off the area for investigations.
