According to local press, the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro inaugurated the National Basic School Supreme Commander Hugo Chavez on Sept. 16, 2013, named in honor of the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. For its construction, the Venezuelan government has earmarked an investment of over 9 million bolivars (about 1.42 million U.S. dollar). The school, which has space to accommodate over 400 children, has a playground, a school radio, regular classrooms, classrooms for special care and a bilingual system.
