
Photo taken on Aug. 7, 2015 shows a bronze statue of Robert Charles Emile Jacquinot de Besange at a memorial hall of Songhu battle in east China's Shanghai. Robert Charles Emile Jacquinot de Besange, a French who also had a Chinese name Rao Jiaju, founded a refugee zone near the Yuyuan Garden in Shanghai during the cruel battles of China's Anti-Japanese War. Under his great efforts, the refugee zone received 300, 000 refugees at peak times. Rao left China for Paris in 1940 and died in Berlin in 1946. (Xinhua/Pei Xin)
