KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia is still waiting on the verification on whether the debris found on the Reunion island were from the missing Malaysia Airlines MH370 flight, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said Saturday.

"As of today I haven't received detail verification report," Liow said as he arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport from abroad.

"I would like to emphasis that we are waiting for the verification result and we hope it can be done as soon as possible, " he said. "At the meantime, let's not speculate on anything."

Deputy Transport Minister Abdul Aziz Kaprawi said Friday that he had been informed that the flaperon washed ashore on the Reunion Island were from a Boeing 777.

Liow remained cautious, saying Malaysia is waiting for the confirmation from French Investigators.

"Although from the picture it looks like a from a Boeing 777, but that's only from view and didn't go to technical details."

Malaysia has sent two teams to assist the investigation, one to Paris and the other to the Reunion Island, Liow said.
