A Baul performs at a market in a village near Santiniketan in the Birbhum district of West Bengal, India, March 6, 2015. The Bauls are a group of mystic minstrels from Bengal which includes Indian State of West Bengal and the country of Bangladesh. Often being identified by their distinctive clothes and musical instruments, the Bauls are popular as they sing solo or perform for people. Baul music had a great influence on Rabindranath Tagore's poetry and on his music. In 2005, the Baul tradition was included in the list of "Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO. Today, some of the Bauls in West Bengal of India get the chance to attend worldwide musical events and culture exchange programs, so that they spread the charm of their traditional art of music and songs.
