BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese rescue vessel left a military port in Sanya in south China's Hainan Province Monday night for the search operation for the black boxes from the ill-fated AirAsia Flight QZ8501.
In response to a request from Indonesia, the vessel, Yongxingdao, of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy, is expected to arrive on Jan. 9 at the waters where the jet went missing, according to the naval authorities. Full story
China to join search for AirAsia jet black boxes
BEIJING, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- China said on Monday that it had sent aviation experts and a rescue vessel to join the Indonesian search operation for the black boxes from the ill-fated AirAsia Flight QZ8501.
Responding to a request from Indonesia, China sent an expert team to help in the search, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said in a statement on its website without elaborating. Full story
