MANILA, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- A total of 13 people, most were teenagers, died when the utility vehicle carrying them fell into a deep ravine in northern Philippine province of Benguet late Tuesday, local media reported Wednesday.
Twelve people were killed immediately after the accident which also injured four others, the other victim were confirmed dead later. At least three survivors are still hospitalized as of Wednesday morning, local television GMA reported on its website.
Most of the fatalities were students of Poblacion National High School who were heading home.
Other media reported that the vehicle driver was among the victims, and police were still investigating the cause of the accident.
The vehicle carried 16 passengers when it fell into the ravine at Poblacion village on late Tuesday afternoon.
