U.S. chip giant Intel will invest 5.8 billion U.S. dollars to upgrade its plant in the town of Kiryat Gat in southern Israel, the country's Ministry of Economy said on Monday. The ministry expects that the upgrade will create some 1,200 new jobs directly for Intel, and about 4,000 additional jobs in the country's south. After the upgrade, the plant, which currently manufactures 22-nanometer chips, will produce advanced 10-nanometer chips. (Xinhua/JINI/Israel Sun/Yael Tzur)
