As Irving Rosenfeld, Christian Bale plays a con man who assists an FBI agent in his attempt to entrap government officials.

This is the second Academy Award nomination for Christian Bale. He was previously nominated for Actor in a Supporting Role for The Fighter (2010)which he won.
