Brazil to reach extreme levels of UV radiation index

BRAZIL-SAO PAULO-HEALTH-CANCER

People rest on a hot summer day in Sesc Belenzinho in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Jan. 10, 2014. According to the Center for Weather Forecasting and Climate Studies (Cptec) and National Institute for Space Research (INPE), the country could reach extreme levels of UV radiation index that is harmful for health on Friday and in the following days. It is estimated that every year there are about 120,000 new cases of skin cancer in Brazil, according to local press reports. (Xinhua/Rahel Patrasso)
