Scientists awarded nat'l prize, premier stresses innovation
BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Two Chinese scientists, physical chemist Zhang Cunhao and nuclear weapons expert Cheng Kaijia, won China's top science award on Friday for their outstanding contributions to scientific and technological innovation.
The pair, both academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were presented with certificates by Chinese President Xi Jinping at an annual ceremony held to honor distinguished scientists and research achievements. Full story
Eight foreign scientists win Chinese sci-tech awards
BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Eight foreign scientists were honored by the Chinese government in its international sci-tech cooperation awards on Friday.
Fabio Rocca, an Italian professor of radar and remote sensing, and German marine geologist Jan Eduard Harff, along with another six experts from the United States, Russia and Canada, were given the awards at a high-level ceremony held annually to honor distinguished scientists and research achievements.
