China to encourage investment in Pacific islands
BEIJING, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- China will support strong Chinese businesses with good reputations to invest in Pacific island nations and help Pacific island nation enterprises to explore the Chinese market, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang said on Thursday.
Wang made the remarks when meeting with foreign officials attending the second China-Pacific Island Countries Economic Development and Cooperation Forum in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province. Full story
China assists Pacific island countries with clean energy projects
MAJURO, Marshall Islands, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to continue to help the Pacific island countries (PICs) in tackling climate change within its capacity and through South-South cooperation, said the Chinese special envoy to the Pacific Islands Forum Dialogue on Friday.
Li Qiangmin, China's special envoy for China-Pacific Islands Forum Dialogue, told the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Post-Forum Partners Dialogue Meeting, in Majuro, capital of Marshall Islands, on Friday that China fully understands the special situation and concerns of the Pacific island countries on climate change.
