Stilt houses are seen at the Gongtan ancient town in Tujia-Miao Autonomous County of Youyang, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, Oct. 6, 2012. Gongtan anient town, with a history of more than 1700 years, locates at the east river bank where Wujiang River meets the Apeng River. Due to the construction of a hydropower station nearby, in 2007, the town was relocated as a whole to its current place, which is 1.5 kilometers away. The relocation work was carried on with the principle of preserving its original culture and style, making the ancient town a famous tourist destination nowadays.
