
A Tibetan clay sculpture artist Xia Wujiao paints a Buddha statue at home in Tongren County, in Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Huangnan, southwest China's Qinghai Province, Sept. 22, 2012. Tongren County is also known as "The village of Regong Art", which mainly consists of Buddhist painting and model-making arts, such as Tangka, embossed embroidery and clay sculpture. Although the art was originated in monastery, it has been mostly inherited by local villagers. Now the Regong Art has became an income improving industry for local people, and contributed to a revenue of over 200 million yuan (about 31.72 million U.S. dollars) in 2011.(Xinhua/Zhang Hongxiang)
