URUMQI, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Premier Wen Jiabao has stressed during his inspection tour of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from Sept. 3 to 5 that promoting leapfrog development in the area is key to its long-term stability.
"The development and stability of Xinjiang is closely related to the country's overall situation concerning reform, development and security. We must step up efforts to build a more prosperous, harmonious and stable Xinjiang," Wen said, urging full use of local resources and improvements in people's livelihoods. Full story
